The Blogger's Prayer

Lord help me to learn to spell without spellcheck, manage to visit all that visit me, and post regularly - all in 5 minutes a day, so that I can clean house and take care of my family. Help me to not look at every occurrence in my life as a blog post, and to quit taking pictures of weird things to share as well. Please Lord, help me to stop talking about my blog friends as though they are next door neighbors or someone I have known all of my life. And help me dear Lord, to think of something witty and wise to post tomorrow.

A scarry Thought.

I saw this article on this Blog. I was gonna comment on it and decided to turn it into a semi Diatribe on my site instead. KIDS YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE IN SCHOOL TO LEARN NOT RULE THE SCHOOL. WHEN YOU BECOME "AN ADULT" MAYBE.A teacher should not have to be afraid of the students YOU need to be afraid of the TEACHER AND THE PRINCIPLE AS I WAS.IF I ACTED UP IN SCHOOL I WAS SENT TO THE PRINCIPALS OFFICE AND USUALLY GOT MY BEHIND SWATTED WITH A PADDLE IF I WAS DUMB ENOUGH TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT I GOT IT DOUBLE WHEN I GOT HOME.The main problem as I see it is that for too long ALL YOUR PARENTS HAVE WANTED TO BE YOUR KIDS FRIENDS THE IDEA THE DISCIPLINE BEING CHILD ABUSE IS DEAD WRONG.IT IS HIGH TIME IT WENT BACK TO IT DID IN THE GOOD OLD DAYS THEY WERE YOUR PARENTS AND NOT YOU FRIEND UNTIL YOU BECAME AN ADULT.THIS BEING SAID THAT MEANS DISCIPLINING YOU AS MY PARENTS DID.If I even dared to talk back to them I was in deep trouble. Now a days telling the adults what to do is the norm.to this I say HORSESHIT.
THE FLIP-FLOPS are a danger to YOU The Backless shoes can cause you to slip and fall.YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO CONFORM IN THE WORLD.ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO WORKING FOR A LIVING.NO ONE EVER HANDED ME ANYTHING ON A SILVER PLATTER.EVERY THING THAT I HAVE I WORKED TO BUY IT.
NOW THAT IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE SOCIETY.

  1. I agree Mike. I see the very same thing. I see kids being disrespectful to their parents, teachers...well just about everybody. It's a shame and I am sure these very kids will become our next generation of convicts. Not all of them, but many.

Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)

  2. It is a sad state our society is in....if my kids were disrespectful to anyone, especially and adult/teacher they would get in trouble at home..far worse than school/church/etc.

  3. You are so right! There is such a sense of entitlement in so many young people today and I think a lot of it comes from parents who want to be friends, who give their kids whatever they want...
Discipline and hard work will teach kids a lot!

  6. I agree with the entitlement part of this. However, it was very difficult for me to read as I was terrified as a child due to my abuse. Many parents today don't know the line between discipline and abuse.

    This post triggered me.

    Clueless

  7. As long as I lived under my parents roof, I had to abide by what they said. I was disciplined by my father. My mother was not a great disciplinarian. But I loved both of them and did not want to disappoint them.

  8. SJTS,be right over.I'm sorry that you were abused.I still sand about the lack of respect and discipline.Sorry that I caused a trigger.

Syd,Yep house rules, their house their rules.I loved my parents as well, and tried not to disappoint them as well.

  9. Sorry to go on Mike. "The American Psychological Association opposes the use of corporal punishment in schools, juvenile facilities, child care nurseries, and all other institutions, public or private, where children are cared for or educated. It claims that corporal punishment is violent and unnecessary, may lower self-esteem, and is liable to instil hostility and rage without reducing the undesired behaviour. The APA also states that corporal punishment is likely to train children to use physical violence"

As a behavioralist, my experience is that corporal punishment solves the problem immediately, but does not teach them skill such as self control, calming one's self, thinking about natural consequences, etc..

  10. CC,yes corporal does solve tghe imediate problem, and along with teaching the proper way to do things and how to treat people the right way.My parents did all of that.I think I turned out pretty good.It all boils down as to how one raises their children.
