The Blogger's Prayer

Lord help me to learn to spell without spellcheck, manage to visit all that visit me, and post regularly - all in 5 minutes a day, so that I can clean house and take care of my family. Help me to not look at every occurrence in my life as a blog post, and to quit taking pictures of weird things to share as well. Please Lord, help me to stop talking about my blog friends as though they are next door neighbors or someone I have known all of my life. And help me dear Lord, to think of something witty and wise to post tomorrow.

Tech. Sergeants Abner Berrios (left) and Alan Hunter display their letter perfect "black-letter initial" aircraft checklists at Pope Field, N.C. In an effort to set a positive example for the unit's newer crew chiefs and members, the two used their professional rivalry to try to out-work and out-inspect each other. The end result was the rarity of both crew chiefs obtaining discrepancy free checklists. Both sergeants are crew chiefs with the 440th Airlift Wing.

Friday Flashback

this weeks friday Flashback is being brought to you by my friend and a Co-Author Clueless.

As a child this is the present that I wanted in the whole world. I loved baking and still do. Many chef's had this as this as a present and started baking and cooking with it. It is amazing what a light bulb can do. Even more amazing is what parents will eat to please their child...in hindsight, the stuff was awful. Enjoy the commercial from my favorite "toy."

Happy Birthday Les Paul.

Today, Google doodles another American Jazz and Country Guitarist, Les Paul on his 96th Birthday celebration.
In Google homepage, one can see an image same as shown above but it’s just animated where one can even strike a string of a guitar-like forming the word Google.

Moreover, Les Paul, aside from being an American Jazz and Country Guitarist, is also a songwriter and an inventor. He’s one of the pioneers of the electric guitar and one of the brains in the innovations of recordings instruments.

On August 2009, Les Paul died after suffering from Pneumonia in White Plains Hospital, White Plains, New York.

My Newest Award

Sandee of Comedy Plus fame has bestowed me with the OVERLORD Award.

Here are Sandee's awardees

Mike Golch of Golch Central's Rambling Stuff
Mike G. of Mike's Place
Steve of bethere2day
Marg of Margs Pets
William Wallace of London is Cool

As with most awards this honor comes with a task, I need to list three things I would change about the world. So here goes.

1) There would be no more Dictators every country would be a democracy.

2) No More Crime, that way there would not be a need for prisons.

3) There would be no more Wars, young people would not be called apon to give there lives for their country.

Now that as far as giving out this award. I am clueless as to whom I want to give it to the most. So far only one person comes to mind and that is MIMI of Blog Blast for Peace fame.

What Next

Today has not been fun. I'm still working on the computer. I cannot get the volume bar to work. I do have some stuff reinstalled. AVG is being a real pain in the ass and to really make things fun our sliding window in our bedroom came out of the track and I cannot get it back into it. Hopefully tomorrow we can get the company repairman out to fix it. I only hope that is does not cost us an arm and a leg. So how has your day been going?

A decision.

I have come to realise not matter what I cannot publish a playlist from Playlist.com to any of my blogger sites.my friend Clueless was able to but for some damn effin reason and the support people cannot tell me why as well I cannot. I have given up even trying. the playlists that I have already posted will stay put as long as they continue to work. I WILL NEVER ATTEMPT TO POST A NEW PLAYLIST TO ANY OF MY BLOGS FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.

For what it is worth Playlist is giving me grief for the second week in a row. I created a play list for tomorrows 5 on Friday and it will not post to my site AGAIN. I'M READY TO JUST GIVE UP WITH THAT SITE. I will be participating in the 5 on Friday meme that I post over on MIKE'S PLACE this week and I will use YOU TUBE VIDEOS AGAIN. EFF YOU PEOPLE AT PLAYLIST.COM. It used to be that you could just cut and paste the play list but not any more they created a better way NOT! So until such time as they get their act together they can just PLANT THEIR

Col. Van T. Barfoot
Col. Van T. Barfoot
91 years old from Henrico County, Virginia
157th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division
U.S. Army

In December 2009 Van T. Barfoot made national headlines when he wanted to fly his American flag in his yard but was told to take it down by his homeowners association.  It's still flying proudly today.  But that's just one small event in the life of Mr. Barfoot.  Long before he decided to fly that flag he defended it during W.W.II.

Barfoot joined the Army in 1940 and was shipped to Italy in 1943 where distinguished himself in 1944 when, in the course of a single day, he advanced alone through a minefield, took out a German machine gun with a hand grenade, single handily killed eight German soldiers, captured seventeen, disabled a tank with a bazooka and then returned to his own lines and helped two of his own wounded squad members. All which earned him the Medal Of Honor.  So it comes as no surprise that when he wanted to fly the American fly he wasn't going to take no for an answer.

You can read more about Col. Barfoot here
