MY HAMMERED DULCIMER
There are various Hammered Dulcimer postings from YouTube of different tunes, and NO I AM NOT PLAYING ANY OF THESE TUNES.Maybe some day when I have the equipment to do so.I have included a link to my You Tube Channel.I invite you to go and watch any of my videos on the site also check out some of the different channels I subscribe to.
ABOUT THE HAMMERED DULCIMER
Originating in the Middle East about 2000 years ago, English soldiers brought the instrument back to England after their failed attempt to conquer Persia during the Crusades about 1000 years ago. Dulcimers have many names in many lands: santur in the Middle East, yang q'in in China, hackbrett in Austria, zither in Germany, and cymbalom in Hungary. The name "dulcimer" is derived from Latin, meaning "sweet sound". Hammered dulcimers were popular in England during the reign of James I, when the Bible was translated into English as the King James Bible. The dulcimer was mentioned in the Book of Daniel 3:5 among other instruments "..the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of music..." The dulcimer was later mechanized to become what we now know as the harpsichord which later evolved in the piano.

CHANGES
THE SERENITY PRAYER
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen. - Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)

that's it for today.
just a quick note
Well they got it wrong all it did was make me drowsy enough that I had several seizures.this time the seizures were the milder kind where I would just blank out with my eyes open and not seeing any thing. So now they are contacting my dental plan to see if they can completely put me out under general Anestassia to do the work. If the insurance will cover it.of not I do not know what were are going to do.
Let me add a post script.I have been going to the hospital dental clinic for about a year and a half now.whenI go for my annual cleaning and check up the dental hygienist takes her time and is patient enough to let the seizure finish and than continues where she left off.the dentist there are just like my former dentist they do not want to wait.I guess their time is too valuable to wast wanting for the seizure to stop.

Medal of Honor Winner Ed Freeman

You're an 19 year old kid. You're critically wounded, and dying in the jungle in the Ia Drang Valley , 11-14-1965, LZ X-ray, Vietnam . Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8 - 1, and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.
You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns, and you know you're not getting out. Your family is 1/2 way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.
Then, over the machine gun noise, you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter, and you look up to see an un-armed Huey, but it doesn't seem real, because no Medi-Vac markings are on it. Ed Freeman is coming for you. He's not Medi-Vac, so it's not his job, but he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire, after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come.
He's coming anyway.
And he drops it in, and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board. Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire, to the Doctors and Nurses. And, he kept coming back.... 13 more times..... And took about 30 of you and your buddies out, who would never have gotten out.
Medal of Honor Recipient , Ed Freeman , died last Wednesday at the age of 80, in Boise , ID ......May God rest his soul.....
I bet you didn't hear about this hero's passing, but we sure were told a whole bunch about some Hip-Hop Coward beating the crap out of his "girlfriend" or Winner
I saw this over on AirmanMom's site and had to post this here as well, here folks is my meaning of a gentleman!
P.S. we could use more men like this as role models! That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Mike And The Mechanics - Living Years
I just thought that I would add this song today.I can relate to the words.
A post about a dark side of me.
I have made several attempts by using an overdose of the meds I have taken. I even tried to hang myself. Each time I have failed at these attempts.I am grateful for these failures.
After one such attempt I was placed in a psych ward by my doctor at the time where one of my sisters said to me "how can you do this to our Mother".I told her that my attempt was to kill the person I most hated, myself and it was a selfish act and at the time I had no reguard for may one's feelings.I told her that I did not need to be attacked this way and walked out of the visiting area back to my room.
Bottom line is that I am doing a lot better now,and like drinking I know that these thoughts will come back to me.It is how I address these thoughts that are important.I now have phone numbers to call 24/7 I will go to the emergency room for help as well. I love life and I have a lot more peace that I have had in the past. I also have all my friends that live in my computer that I can turn to as well.
Bottom line,if you are having problems Please for GOD'S sake reach out to someone, ask for help.you do not need to use a perminate solution for a tempory problem.I learned this Please do this for your self as well.
GOD lOVES YOU,AS DO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

why me?
I still have to put stuff back into it,I was up until midnight trying to get it working.
Currently I'm using my older computer that still works.so maybe today I can get it working.I woke up at 6:30 AM I could not sleep so I decided to play a game, and do this posting.Soon if I am lucky I'll be tired enough to go back to sleep for a couple of hours that fight with the main computer again.I saved some stuff to a dvd disc that was I would not lose the folders that I wanted to keep.Hopefully I did that right.
I know that a "little rain must fall on our lives",but why do I need to be in "monsoon season" when it does???
Now that I got that off my chest I feel a little better. At least Me and the cat were the only ones at home when I let go all the nasty things I said to the computer for giving me the grief that it did.I even threaten to drop kick it into Lake Erie, but it just sat there "thumbing it's nose" at me.At least I got the last laugh,I fixed it,I think.Time will tell.
My one friend told me that he was having the same trouble with his MAC,I had called him to ask him if that had ever happened to him,so I guess that if there is going to be a failure it does not matter what kind you have.

Members of Montgomery County Chapter 641 of the Vietnam Veterans of America join with the Montgomery County Army Air Corps for a moment of silence after cleaning the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Saturday. The group has been scrubbing the wall once a month from April to October for 15 years to honor those who died in the war. With a long scrub brush in hand, Noel Koch of Rockville studied the inscriptions on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at sunrise Saturday. His Army unit, the 3rd RRU, was home to the first recognized combat death in that war, James T. "Tom" Davis, and as Koch talked about Vietnam, the droplets on his cheeks were not spray from the hoses wetting down the black granite.
"Part of keeping the wall clean is keeping our honor clean," said Koch, who served in Vietnam in 1962. "It's our obligation."
For 15 years, members of the Montgomery County Chapter 641 of the Vietnam Veterans of America have gathered once a month from April to October to clean the wall of the fingerprints and smudges left by visitors to the memorial. The veterans scour the wall rain or shine, moving aside wreaths and mementos left by visitors and carefully replacing them when the job is finished.
"I was there very early, so when I came back people didn't even know where I'd been, and as things got worse, of course, people came back and were just treated horribly, spit on," Koch said of the war. "Our countrymen didn't care about us so we just did what we had to do, so we had to look after each other."
The effort was begun by Art Wong and Mike Najarian, both of Silver Spring, who learned in 1994 that other groups were cleaning the wall and felt a responsibility to pay homage to their comrades. The men of Chapter 641 now clean the wall and its path, as well as the Vietnam Women's Memorial and the statue of the Three Soldiers.
"This is our memorial," said Wong, who served in the Marines from 1967 to 1968, "The Park Service Doesn't allocate any money to wash it, that's why it's all volunteer."
Now that some of the veterans are getting older, members of the Montgomery County Army Air Corps, a civilian auxiliary to the Air Force comprising seventh-graders to college sophomores, comes down to assist with the wash. But Chapter 641 isn't ready to pass the torch yet and dozens showed up Saturday for the first wash of the season.
"We're just not ready to give up on it yet, but we've got to find somebody to take care of it," said Jim Stastny of Damascus, who was stationed in Thailand with the Air Force from 1970 to 1971. "I have friends on this wall. Those were trying times in America and they did not get the recognition they deserved for their heroism and their sacrifice and it's also a time of personal cleansing, you might say."
Donald Adam, a National Park Service volunteer, said especially during the peak tourist season hairspray, sunscreen and residue from people taking rubbings take a toll on the memorial.
"We appreciate all their time and effort," Adam said. He said several groups come to clean the wall, so it's washed almost weekly now, something the Park Service couldn't do otherwise.
"The wall really needs it after a while. We can't keep it as clean as it needs to be."
Bill Gray of Silver Spring, who served in the Army in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969, said he has been coming down to clean the wall for three years, and has even washed it in a snow storm.
"It's an opportunity to honor our friends who were killed and (for) those of us who were wounded physically and mentally, it's a day to heal ourselves and heal each other," Gray said. "It's a small sacrifice we can pay for what these people paid for our country."
I saw this on AirmanMom's site and decided to add the article that was written along with the photo.

Now we have to morn more officers.
Police Chief Nate Harper said the motive for the shooting isn't clear, but friends said the gunman recently had been upset about losing his job and feared the Obama administration was poised to ban guns.
Richard Poplawski, 23, met officers at the doorway and shot two of them in the head immediately, Harper said. An officer who tried to help the two also was killed.
Poplawski, armed with an assault rifle and two other guns, then held police at bay for four hours as the fallen officers were left bleeding nearby, their colleagues unable to reach them, according to police and witnesses. More than 100 rounds were fired by the SWAT teams and Poplawski, Harper said.
The three slain officers were Eric Kelly, 41, Stephen Mayhle, 29, and Paul Sciullo III, 37. Kelly had been on the force for 14 years, Mayhle and Sciullo for two years each. Another officer, Timothy McManaway, was shot in the hand and a fifth broke his leg on a fence.

How to be a class act.
By Chris Chase
Last month, Dan Leone was fired from his part-time job with the Philadelphia Eagles after criticizing the team for letting veteran Brian Dawkins leave via free agency. Leone was a seasonal game day employee, which meant he worked during the Eagles' 10 home dates each season. His termination meant he would have been unlikely to attend any of those games in 2009. But now help is coming from an unexpected source.
Dawkins signed with the Denver Broncos, who happen to be playing in Philly this season. Since each visiting player gets two tickets to away games, the 35-year-old defensive back decided to give his allotment for the contest in Philadephia to Leone. Dawkins told the Philadelphia Daily News:
"I thought it'd be a good gesture. Had I not ... signed with Denver, that guy would still have his job. Obviously, he made a decision and out of emotion said something. He was one of probably thousands and thousands of Eagles fans who felt that way. That didn't surprise me, that someone said that on their Facebook. It did surprise me that he was let go, though ... I felt it would be a good thing, to reach out to that individual and just let him know how much I appreciate it.''
Well played, Brian Dawkins. It's becoming clear to see why most people in Philly didn't want to see a class act like Dawkins leave town.

stupid is what stupid does!

In this photo released Tuesday, March 31, 2009, by the Newark (Ohio) Police Department, a motorized bar stool is shown. Police in Newark, 30 miles east of Columbus, say when they responded to a report of a crash with injuries on March 4 2009, they found a man who had wrecked a bar stool powered by a deconstructed lawn mower. Police say Kile Wygle, 28 was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated after he told an officer at the hospital that he had consumed 15 beers. Wygle told police his motorized bar stool can go up to 38 mph.
(APto add to this, the jacka$$ said he drank the beers after the crash not before.YEH RIGHT.
a good day today.
I can count my blessing that today is a good day.I'm glad that I shared some of the stuff that that runs Though my head,it shows a side of me that needed to be shared.
I shared this in response to several blogs that I visit where they talk about the stuff that happens to them. This way I can show them that they are not alone.
Abuse comes in many forms, physical and mental by some one we know. then there is substance abuse in the form of drugs and alcohol.these are "friends" that I know all too well.
than there is the category of self hatred, this takes many forms as well the worse one being suicidal,I have walked that path many times as well. The good part that I know that it is a pernate solution to a temporary problem. This does not mean that the thought will not be revisited, but I now have the tools to combat these thoughts.I promised my psych doc that i would call her and or go to the emergency room.
My point is that no one is perfect, and the last perfect person that walked this Earth was nailed to a cross to die for our sins, that we may be saved.
