On Addictions.

Yep it all can be very addictive. Sometimes you have to watch your time or you will be sucked into it for hours. :)

Valarie Lea, that trouble is that I do sit in front of my computer for hours at a time.sometimes it doing the entreCard drops,reading blogs,and playing the games I have installed on the computer.

ReplyDeleteoh man i know so well about being a computer addict! I to am one, and i ended up cutting back on line a lot because it was ruling my days! I to had to leave groups, i left all but blogger for awhile. I now started up with sparkspeople, which is a place to help people live healthier lives, and has a wonderful support system in place. I still try to limit my time even there and on my blog as you have seen.

well, I can certainly understand the addicting nature of some of these things. I have a friend who warned me about how blogging can become an addiction, so I am trying not to obsess about it too much.
ReplyDeleteI still am not sure how I feel about the entrecard stuff. On the one hand, I like the number of visitors it brings me, but you only get a handful of those folks who actually read and comment. I will keep with the entrecard for a while. I used to try to drop cards on everyone who dropped on me that day, but now I only drop if I have the time to do it.
Wish you very well on your wish to stop computer addiction. it can indeed be very frustrating sometimes, when you want to stop, but you can't and keep on reading, blogging, reading, etc. i do that sometimes too, I have to really remind myself to stop.

I don't Twitter - cannot for the love of me see the use for it. As for entrecard, I read the blogs I have bookmarked, I click on SOME of the entrecard thingies but not all, entrecard has helped me find other folks and folks have found me, I say keep it just don't feel compelled to do x-number of drops or even advertise everywhere. I'm very selective about were I advertise, who I drop on and who's ads I accept. I use it mostly as a search tool for blogs.

ReplyDeleteI too am a computer addict but I gave up smoking already and I'm not quite ready to give up the computer. I am spending less time on the computer though and spending more time reading books (no reading is not reading, not in my eyes that is).

Mammaflo,thank you.I mananged to beat 2 addiction.Alchol in 1990 and smoking in 1994. I'm not giving up my computer,just some of the stuff that I was doing.
