The battle of the Coral Sea.
one this date in history the Battle of Coral Sea happened. The battle took place over 4 days total. it is interesting due to the fact that a lot of ships were sunk during the battle. hence the Nickname of the Iron Bottom Sound.

That is an interesting story.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to mention this battle. It was a major engagement that, just after Doolittle's Raid on Tokyo, set us up for the more widely known Battle of Midway.
ReplyDeleteIt was bad to lose Lady Lex, but if Yorktown hadn't managed to make it back to Pearl, I don't see how we get such a decisive victory at Midway.
