It appears that the 2 hardest words to say to a military veteran is "Thank you!"
ReplyDeleteI hope enough people see things like this so when they see a person in uniform, the least they can do is say thank you.
Here is a true story that warms my heart. I was outside a popular restaurant on Nov. 10th. He was getting out of a car with people that I assumed was his family. I yelled, "Happy Birthday Marine." He looked at me with a quizzical look and said "It's not my...." He smiled, snapped to attention said, "Thank you sir. Hoo rah!", did a proper about face and joined his family. Just my opinion but it looked like he was walking a little taller than before.
If I haven't said it before, "Thank you Mike!"
Have a great weekend!
Steve

ReplyDeletemike...I just got home a little while ago from attending my 2nd Rolling Thunder! It is such a huge honor to be escorted as a Blue Star Mother VIP. To see the streets of our Nation's Capitol lined with people thanking the Vets and thanking the Moms...truly is a good moment!
