The Blogger's Prayer

Lord help me to learn to spell without spellcheck, manage to visit all that visit me, and post regularly - all in 5 minutes a day, so that I can clean house and take care of my family. Help me to not look at every occurrence in my life as a blog post, and to quit taking pictures of weird things to share as well. Please Lord, help me to stop talking about my blog friends as though they are next door neighbors or someone I have known all of my life. And help me dear Lord, to think of something witty and wise to post tomorrow.

  1. Great song picks. Last spring, I performed to several 50s songs and Peppermint Twist was one of them. I love your other pick, too.

  2. Mike,

"Peppermint Twist" is one of those I'd forgotten about but you and another 4M dancer remembered it. So, it was great to hear this classic, vintage tune again. "Dancing in the Moonlight" is a song I haven't heard in forever. Isn't it funny how you loss mewsic in your mind over time. I couldn't tell you who did if asked, so I'm glad you shared this retro piece by King Harvest. I'm gonna have to listen to more of their mewsic for a little refresher of what else I might have forgotten or is this one of those band who had a one-hit wonder where everything else failed to chart? Oh well...it'll be an interesting discovery and I appreciate the jog in my memory. Thanks for joining the 4M crew on the dance floor, my friend. Have a tunetastic week, Mike!

  3. Many of us had the Peppermint Twist... hope you got a chance to glance around too afterwards, but I think the most was "THE TWIST"! hahahaha like we didn't know that was going to happen. Yep, I agree with Cathy your second tune was a loner... but it was a radio favorite in its day I must say. Way ta go my friend! Ya done good! ROCK ON~!

  4. Oh wow Mike, I totally forgot about Dancin' in the Moonlight! What an awesome song! King Harvest's one-hit wonder. OMG, I love this song! Listening to it right now in my headphones for the second time. I'm featuring the song in one of my posts about One Hit Wonders from the 70s (coming at next year's A-Z Challenge).

The Peppermint Twist is a fun song too.
Frank Zappa is one artist that I just never "got" ... I have a friend who thinks he's a genius and I know so many people feel the same way. Are you a Zappa fan? My friend (also named Mike) has tried to get me into Zappa for decades now! He just recently sent me some interesting interviews with him. I just never got his music. I'm listening to Dancin' Fool right now and it's good. I guess I should explore his career a bit more...

Great post. Have a good week.
