The Blogger's Prayer

Lord help me to learn to spell without spellcheck, manage to visit all that visit me, and post regularly - all in 5 minutes a day, so that I can clean house and take care of my family. Help me to not look at every occurrence in my life as a blog post, and to quit taking pictures of weird things to share as well. Please Lord, help me to stop talking about my blog friends as though they are next door neighbors or someone I have known all of my life. And help me dear Lord, to think of something witty and wise to post tomorrow.

  3. Mike,

BJ Thomas was so popular in the early 70s. He sure has smooth vocals. Did you know that he used to, may still do, live in the foothills of the Smoky's? There for a time he has a mewsic theatre but it closed many years ago. 'Rock the Boat' had to my favorite tune from 1974. I turned 13 that year. :) I read a bit of the song's backstory. Did you know initally it didn't do well, appearing more of a flop instead of a success. It took months before it got any airplay. It eventually became a favorite song in NY discos which got Top 40 radio's attention and from that point, the song shot to #1. It's such a catchy dance number I have no idea why it didn't get played right off the bat. Thanks for joining the greats blog party on the cyber-block for another week, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!

  4. Cathy Kennedy,BJ Thomas had a great voice for sure!! In august 1974 I was getting out of the USAF and 22 years and married to my first wife for a year.So listening to the radio was how I learned about Rock the Boat and I did rock a few boats when I was in the USAF.(Sigh) :) :-* :X :-f :-h d)

  5. Nice rockin' numbers. I hadn't heard Rock n'roll Lullaby in forever. What a voice B.J. Thomas had. By the way, I never noticed the info on your sidebar about your Dad and his military service. My late father was in the Army Air Force too. My husband was in the AF but later than you were - I was in college when you served. I salute you! Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  7. Hi Mike! Long time!
Glad to be back just in time for your rockin' post! Haven't heard the Stray Cats in forever! That was fun. And likewise, haven't thought of BJ Thomas either. My fav by him is "Hooked On a Feeling".
And Rock the Boat brought back some great memories.
    Thanks for rockin' us...
