The Blogger's Prayer

Lord help me to learn to spell without spellcheck, manage to visit all that visit me, and post regularly - all in 5 minutes a day, so that I can clean house and take care of my family. Help me to not look at every occurrence in my life as a blog post, and to quit taking pictures of weird things to share as well. Please Lord, help me to stop talking about my blog friends as though they are next door neighbors or someone I have known all of my life. And help me dear Lord, to think of something witty and wise to post tomorrow.

  1. I think it's interesting that Micky, Davy, Mike and Peter were just thrown together to make a TV show and turned themselves into a real rock band.

  3. You have definitely picked the best of the Monkees. As Mr. Holton pointed out, they started as a concept for a TV show and turned into a very good band. I think the TV show portrayed them as little more than a boy band, not capable of serious music endeavors, but the vocal harmonies and instrumental work on Last Train to Clarksville proved that these boys could play and sing.

  6. Mike,

I loved watching The Monkees' TV show and their mewsic was great, too! It wasn't until years later that I learned that they weren't all mewsicians but learned to play. The success they had as a real group spin-off is quite amazing. Gosh, I miss those innocent days of yesterday with all the groovy mewsic! Thanks for sharing the 4M dance floor with me, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!

  7. Hi Mike,
It's interesting that you put together a Monkee's playlist because I was just watching a few videos the other day about how the Monkees came to be and what their early beginnings were like. I love me some Monkees!
I used to watch that show all the time...back when I thought the people on the screen were actually inside the tv set. haha

Great set. Thanks for the memories,
