Ashtabula County Covered Bridge 17 construction May 7, 2008

I posted this when the Smolen-Gulf bridge was under condstruction,and decided to repost it.

The Longest Covered Bridge.

This is the Newest Covered bridge in Astabula County,Ohio

SMOLEN-GULF (2.6 miles from Olin Bridge)
The longest covered bridge in the United States is of Pratt Truss construction. Engineering and structural design by John Smolen (former County Engineer) and architectural design by Timothy Martin (current County Engineer) the bridge was dedicated August 26, 2008. The bridge is 613 ft. long and stands 93 ft. above the Ashtabula River. With clear width of 30 ft. and height of 14 ft. 6 in. it will support full legal load traffic and has a life expectancy of 100 years.

I had done a posting about this bridge with a video of it under construction.and I thought that everyone might like to see the finidhed project.

Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May (May 25 in 2009). Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who died while in the military service. First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War (it is celebrated near the day of reunification after the civil war), it was expanded after World War I to include American casualties of any war or military action.
Remember Freedom is not free,some one paid for it with their lives. If you can read this, Thank a Teacher,Since You have the freedom to read this,Thank a Veteran.

A Thought about a safe place.

I saw a great posting today where the author said that they needed a place to hide with their spouse's friends are coming over for the holiday weekend and that they have not meet each other before.I suggested that maybe a happy place to go in their head to hide on a stressful situation.

I will admit right here and now that I do have such a place to run to when needed. In fact I have several places.One is the Hurst Castle grounds when every thing is in bloom.Another is the Hammered Dulcimer festival where I won the Third Place Novice Award.there are a few other places that I enjoy visiting.some in California,Illinois,Ohio and several other places that I have been to.
Having a safe place is a great thing to have.I hope that every one has such a place where they can go to when they need a safe place to hide in when needed.
so there for I will add the other safe place to be if you need it,here is a Big hug for those that need it as well.
I hope that every one has a Great Memorial day weekend.

It has been a while since...

It has been a while since I talked about my sobriety,my bipolar issues.So here goes nothing. I enjoy a good day of sobriety every day that I walk up and go to bed.when I wake up I thank God for allowing me a new day of life,I thank him before going to bed for the day sobriety,(soberity date:12/17/1990)and peacefulness.
My seizures have seemed to settle down some what for the time being.Thank you God for this.
I found a new site to visit.it has nothing to do with blogging,but it may turn out to be useful to people like me that are in therapy.the site is called Mood Gym it deals with C.B.T.( Cognitive Behavior Therapy.) I have just started on the site and will add a link to the site here later today.I do not have the link right next to me at the moment.
here is what my therepisy sent me:I just visited the site. It is a software program for the best psychotherapy for mood disorders! CBT is best and Interpersonal Therapy is also known to be good, but not as researched for mood disorders. Years ago in the 1980's when Metro(hospital)let us go to seminars I saw a Harvard prof do a session of Interpersonal Therapy. He was awesome. I have not progressed through the modules, but hope I can do some in times when I get no shows. THANKS!

Mind Games. (those that do not learn form the past.......)

this is a posting and a Warning for everybody that may find themselves doing this and not realizing that they are doing so.
first of all I will say this,I love my Parents,and Grand Parents. NOW comes the part that I will talk about playing mind games and using children as tools of those games!!! Both my Grand Mothers were playing a game of lets turn the oldest child against their parents. The sad part is that my Dad's Mom and my Mom's Mom did this.It is the same game that parents do that are going through a divorce do.Now here is the kicker.My mom pulled the game game on my brother in law as well.
Please for the sake of your Children and Grand Children do not I repeat do not play these games.It will scar the children, and for what your own self satisfaction???

The Four Freedoms are goals famously articulated by United States President Franklin D. Family members have been helping out ie. rides to outpatient therapy.

We thank you for your prayers and ask to keep them going for her with your prayer group.
Each day is a new challenge both mentally and physically.

As you know that their daughter had a life threating illness and was not to improve much. I had posted a prayer request for the family and everyone responded by placing them and their daughter on their prayer lists. This is proof the prayers work,the Family still needs our prayers for a full fecovery.

today is a new day,and I'm feeling much better.I guess I needed to recharge my 'batteries" and tightened up a few of the "loose screws". and now to go and thank every one for the messages of support that you left me.
