The Blogger's Prayer

Lord help me to learn to spell without spellcheck, manage to visit all that visit me, and post regularly - all in 5 minutes a day, so that I can clean house and take care of my family. Help me to not look at every occurrence in my life as a blog post, and to quit taking pictures of weird things to share as well. Please Lord, help me to stop talking about my blog friends as though they are next door neighbors or someone I have known all of my life. And help me dear Lord, to think of something witty and wise to post tomorrow.

I'm just F.I.N.E.-- Recovery in Al-Anon: Thoughts today

I'm just F.I.N.E.-- Recovery in Al-Anon: Thoughts today: "You can complain about the same problem three times. Then you'd better be in the solution. If you have to talk to more than three people abo..."

I got this email and had to share it.

This puts to shame the output of a number of Hollywood producers and/or directors.

All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!
This film was made by a 15 year old girl. It is the hottest thing on the internet and on Fox News today. Lizzie Palmer who put this YouTubeprogram together, is 15 years old. There have been over3,000,000 hits as of this morning.

In case you missed it, here it is.

Durward Discussion: Only Remembered

Durward Discussion: Only Remembered

A thought about Memorial Day.

It is the
VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the
VETERAN who
salutes the Flag,

It is

who serves
under the Flag,

I found this and had to repost it.

I wanted to re-post this on my Facebook page but alas I could not, so I WILL POST IT here with a link back to the person I got it from.
  • A 15 year old girl holds her 1 year old son; people call her a slut, but no one knows she was raped at 13.

  • People call a girl fat; no one knows she has a serious disease that causes her to be overweight.

  • People call an old man ugly; no one knows he had a serious injury to his face while serving our country in Vietnam.
Re-post this if your against bullying and stereotyping!...Bet not one of you will post this.

SSgt. Jason Rogers

28 years old from Brandon Mississippi
2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force
April 7, 2011
U.S. Marines

"The loss of Jason Rogers is going to make this world an emptier and lonelier and colder place," said childhood friend Brandon Winfield. "I could write a War and Peace-sized story of the kind of person he was. Some people have it — the room just seemed to be dizzier and brighter with him in it."

SSgt. Rogers was KIA on April 7 by an IED while on patrol with his unit in the Helmond Province of Afghanistan.

"He was doing something voluntarily that he loved to do, and he felt like he was making a difference and doing something that made other people proud," said friend Derrick Brownlee.

You can read more about SSgt. Rogers here.

the Flower Show

Just in case you need a laugh today. Age does have some advantages not available to youth.

Two little old ladies were sitting on a park bench outside the local town hall where a flower show was in progress.

The older one leaned over and said, "Life is so boring. We never have any fun anymore. For $10.00 I'd take my clothes off and streak through that stupid, boring flower show!"

"You're on!" said the other old lady, holding up a $10.00 bill.

The first little old lady slowly fumbled her way out of her clothes and completely naked, streaked (as fast as an old lady can) through the front door of the flower show.

Waiting outside, her friend soon heard a huge commotion inside the hall, followed by loud applause and shrill whistling.

Finally, the smiling and naked old lady came through the exit door surrounded by a cheering, clapping crowd.

"What happened?" asked her waiting friend.

"I won $1000 as 1st prize for Best Dried Arrangement."

Sunday Thought.

It is wonderful how much time good people spend fighting the devil. If they would only expend the same amount of energy loving their fellow men, the devil would die in his own tracks of ennui.
