Prayer request

Emergency Prayer Request
I have an Emergency Prayer request.
I received a text from Jacob at 1203 hours this afternoon. He knows I get out of church around 1200 hours. When I saw the time I knew it was important. I called immediately. As best as has been determined at this point one of his fellow soldiers that he has kept in contact with since Basic Training and AIT was seriously injured yesterday. It seems he was involved in a secondary IED attack while going out on a rapid response to a primary IED attack. He received numerous shrapnel wounds on the left side of his body and face. He was talking and we are hoping no brain damage occurred. It appears the IED was packed with ball bearings which cause severe damage when traveling at explosive speeds.
Please put in your prayers and pass it on to your friends the complete and full recovery of Specialist Monte "Ike" Lesh.
Thank you so very, very much and Jacob thanks you also.POPS

Oh well stuff happens.

I wish I knew more that I do.
changes in you Tube.
Myspace/facebook/twitter/digg/orkut/ and live spaces. what it does not show is the way to post it on this website as it did before these changes were made. these changes are going to be manditory.
Here are the changes being made ( this info is directly from You Tube)A few months ago, we launched our YouTube channels redesign in beta (first via a secret opt-in URL that many of you discovered, then as a visible opt-in link). Hundreds of thousands of you are now using the new version, have contributed a lot of useful feedback, and have helped make the new channels beta stronger and faster. Here are a few cool examples of great new channel designs: IceflowStudios, Vlogbrothers, nalts, LisaNova, sxephil, ThadewGrum, The White House, and University of Phoenix.
We're now ready to start rolling out the new channels design to more users. Starting today, all new accounts will automatically have the new version of channels. Here's a video introducing the new channels, the benefits, and how you can get started:
Finally, we'd like to give you advance warning that all existing channels will change over to the new design on July 15. (Partners, watch for separate communications about your changeover date.)
Want to try it out or start getting ready before July 15? Just click on the "Upgrade my channel!" link on your Channel Design page (and note that you can switch back anytime until July 15). Keep in mind that new channels are still in beta for now, so there may be a few elements missing here and there. If you have questions, please scroll down the page for more info on how to use the new Channel design. Also, we've been sharing our progress and gathering feedback from users on a dedicated channels beta blog. Join in if you're interested in learning more and want more frequent updates on our beta progress -- and let us know if there's anything that you'd like to see added to the new version of channels, too.

Life is Great.
I got into a spirited debate with Dickster1961,on his blog and as well as what I said here.I have not done that in a while. This is why I love blogging.I truly enjoying doing a point/counter point thing.I feel a feisty debate is good for ones soul.
Now for some thing of a horse of a different color.lets keep my Friend Tracy,in our thoughts and prayers.they are going thru a rought time in their lives.
A new Rant.
I went on a real diatribe in my remarks for that posting, and I'm not done venting.
Let's take a look at some of the facts.
1) rising gas prices are due to the lower production of gasoline's by the petroleum companies.(Exxon,Chevron,Shell, etc etc you get the picture)
2)the second reason gas prices go up are due to the greed of the buying and selling of oil futures that drives up the price of a barrel of oil.
3)The economy is bad enough that the new controls will destroy jobs,Horseshit.
Jobs have been leaving this country since the Early 60's.the reason the jobs are going is that the big fat cat CEO"s want more profits and cheaper labor costs so they can sell junk, charge more for it and fatten their bank accounts even more.
A personnel observation if you will.I can be dismissed as a fool as someone that does not know what he is talking about.I am fine with that.
There are a lot more out there that voice what I just said here but in more eloquent ways that may be more palatable.I do not know.I am just speaking my mind about what I feel that needs to be said.
one last thought. GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE AND BY THE PEOPLE NEEDS TO BE REVISITED.THROW OUT THE LOBBYISTS,STOP THE BUYING OF POLITICIANS BY THE RICH CORPORATIONS.GIVE THE UNITED STATES BACK TO THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES INSTEAD OF THE SUPER RICH.
I am now officially departing my soap box.

one of those weeks.
I went to my doctors appointment today. after examining me he said at the very least that I have bruised up the muscles that connect the ribs.He aid that I may have fractured the ribs as well.I said to wait a week and if things do not get better that they will do anXray. He said that by waiting they will be able to tell better if I did fracture one or more of the ribs. The x rays will show the calcification where the ribs have started to heal. This is the only way to verify if the ribs were in fact damaged,do to the amount of muscles that connect to the ribs, the ribs are pulled back in place.needles to say I do not feel up to blogging much.

I was having such a great weekend until...

as the title says I was having such a great weekend until, while helping Celestine bring something up from the basement, when my foot caught on the stept and I went flying. My one of my bad knees slammed into the landing causing a lot of pain.I passed out from the pain. I have put a cold ice pack on it several times and I'm still in a lot of pain.
A memorial weekend.
My friend and fellow blogger Travis has posted a great post about the Midway Battle.
He has a wealth of information on his blog, you might want to check it out.

D-DAY, WITH MY THANKS TO NICK OVER AT NICKSBYTES.
A Wounded man being taken care of on D-Day 06-06-1944O God, our Father, endless source of life and peace, welcome into Your merciful embrace the fallen of the war that raged here, the fallen on all wars that have bloodied the earth. Grant that they may enjoy the light that does not fail, which in the reflection of Your splendour illumines the consciences of all men and women of good will. You, Who in Your Son Jesus Christ gave suffering humanity a glorious witness of Your love for us, You, Who in our Lord Christ gave us the sign of a suffering that is never in vain, but fruitful in Your redeeming power, grant those who yet suffer for the blind violence of fratricidal wars the strength of the hope that does not fade, the dream of a definitive civilisation of love, the courage of a real and daily activity of peace. Give us your Paraclete Spirit so that the men of our time may understand that the gift of peace is much more precious than any corruptible treasure, and that while awaiting the day that does not end we are all called to be builders of peace for the future of Your children. Make all Christians more convinced witnesses of life, the inestimable gift of Your love, You Who live and reign for ever and ever Amen. ~ His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI
Today is the anaversary of D-Day.I thank Nick over at Nick's bytes.

IT HAS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I WAS ON MY SOAPBOX.
I read an article in my newspaper that made me think. I will post the article here as well.
We do not pay enought attention to the real heroes. so here is the article that I saw.
He which hath no stomach to this fight, let him depart . . .
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. -- Shakespeare.
The Memorial Day holiday is over, the cookouts, the parades, the sales. But the memories remain.
There's still time to listen to them.
My friend Dave, who served in Vietnam, passed along an e-mail his son wrote. Chief Warrant Officer 3 Dana Dennis, whose job title is 1st Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division Targeting Officer, wrote it after watching LeBron James' game-winning three-pointer in Game 2.
Dana has served in the military for 21 years, more than half his life. Dana is 39. He's spent nearly 40 months in Iraq and Afghanistan. He ships out in August for another 12 months.
LeBron's shot made him think about the true heroes he has met, friends he lost and how they blessed his life. In today's world of fast fame, of American idols and sports figures we call kings, people forget the small folks who make great sacrifices for strangers they will never meet.
Dana wrote about the time he went to a celebration of paratroopers past and present with the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, N.C. He was a younger paratrooper then and had some equipment on display for the old-timers to look at. A World War II vet came by and tried to tell his story to anyone who would listen.
Dana watched the man stop by every display and leave as uninterested young men ignored him. Why not give a veteran 10 minutes of my attention, he thought.
After some small talk, the man started to tell Dana about the young rifleman he used to be. How he made that combat jump in the Normandy invasion, how he lost his best friend, how he saw his buddies drown in the flooded fields.
Then the man started to cry. "He said he didn't understand why he was spared and his friends were taken. He hugged me and moved along to the next display.
"As I wiped the tears away, I thought to myself, 'I just met a real hero.' Not someone who shoots a basketball, or someone who makes millions acting in a movie, but someone who put our future ahead of his life."
That line stopped me cold. Who put our future ahead of his life.
And all that guy wanted was for someone to listen.
It made me wonder how many vets we walk past daily. The old greeter at Wal-Mart who liberated a death camp. The hard-of-hearing uncle who spent the war as a POW. The frail man with the walker slowing us down in the grocery aisle whose shrapnel still slows him down.
All Dana asked was that we hear them.
"My children have friends who have lost a parent in Iraq and Afghanistan. I'm sure many of you know someone who is serving or who has made this ultimate sacrifice," he wrote.
"I have seen what this old-timer spoke to me about. I feel responsible, almost as a Soldier Ambassador to the average wonderful American," Dana wrote. "It's something you all should hear from time to time. I owe it to my friends who are not here to tell their story."
And we owe it to them to listen, more than one day in May.
