MY HAMMERED DULCIMER
There are various Hammered Dulcimer postings from YouTube of different tunes, and NO I AM NOT PLAYING ANY OF THESE TUNES.Maybe some day when I have the equipment to do so.I have included a link to my You Tube Channel.I invite you to go and watch any of my videos on the site also check out some of the different channels I subscribe to.
ABOUT THE HAMMERED DULCIMER
Originating in the Middle East about 2000 years ago, English soldiers brought the instrument back to England after their failed attempt to conquer Persia during the Crusades about 1000 years ago. Dulcimers have many names in many lands: santur in the Middle East, yang q'in in China, hackbrett in Austria, zither in Germany, and cymbalom in Hungary. The name "dulcimer" is derived from Latin, meaning "sweet sound". Hammered dulcimers were popular in England during the reign of James I, when the Bible was translated into English as the King James Bible. The dulcimer was mentioned in the Book of Daniel 3:5 among other instruments "..the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of music..." The dulcimer was later mechanized to become what we now know as the harpsichord which later evolved in the piano.

CHANGES
THE SERENITY PRAYER
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen. - Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)

some thing that I need to share
It is in my nightmares. it is something that happened to me when my Dad flew off the handle before he got all the information.
Here goes nothing. one summer day we were out at my cousin's house, for a summer outing.Keith and I were playing with a balsa wood glider, throwing it back and forth to each outer. When a gust of wind propelled it to the top of the roof where it dangled partially on and partially over the edge of the roof.
I went into the garage and grabbed a strip of wood that you use between paneling that you put up on walls.I used that to knock the plane off the roof.what I did not count on that because it was so flexible.the strip curled backwards striking my sister in the mouth. She went running and crying into the house that I had hit her.Which I did technically. My Dad flew in to a rage and gave me a real bad beating including shoving me into the storm door that was closed in the breezeway. The glass broke cutting my arm slightly, than Dad pushed me into the car and screamed at me not to leave the car. Mean while my cousin was trying to tell every body that is was an accident, and how it happened.
My mom and Aunt came to the car and took me into the house to clean up my arm.fortunately it was just a couple of scrapes that were not too bad once they were cleaned up. needless to say the scene replays in my head every once and a while of being beaten and shoved into glass door until it opened and the glass broke and than being thrown into the red and white colored 1960 Oldsmobile super 88 4 door sedan, that was the family car at the time. I have felt ashamed that this happened to me,and did not share it with too many people until now.I have shared this with every Psych doctor that I have had ever since I was in the air force.

I have had a bad enough day today( alot of seizures) them to find this out,it is a little much to take. I am very depressed over this.it is times like these thatI feel like "crawling into a bottle" and not come out.So I guess I need prayers for him and me as well.
Prayers for my blog friends.
I have another prayer request for my sister, her husband, and my niece Carly. Carly has been getting progressively worse lately, and either this week or next she will have a very long surgery (15 hours) to remove the rest of the tumor. More info is at her blog.
Thanks Mike. I really appreciate that you post prayer requests and help people in this way, especially at a time when I feel so helpless to be able to do something for them.this is from Yertle
The next comes from Karen.
.My Dear friends,
Sorry I haven't been blogging much, but hubby came home Friday afternoon and I had to take him to the sdoctor. He had hurt his back Wednesday night . they took X-rays and he just sprained it real bad. They gave him some anti-inflammatory pills, muscle relaxers, and paid meds to take for it. They told him not to lift anything heavy and just to lay around and take it easy. Today, I went to the Cardiologist and he is wanting to do a Heart Catheriazation tomorrow (25th) my Birhthday to see if there is any blockage. I am going in in the morning at 6:00a.m.CST as an outpatient and I may have to spend the night, just dependint on what the test shows tomorrow. I ask that you all please be in prayer for me as I have this procedure done. i AM very nervous a bout having it done. Just pray that the outcome is good. If not, I may have to hav stints put in he said. I would really appreciate your prayers very much. Me and hubb y won't be going to Branson, MO, now since I am h having this donebut the girls are still going with my parents and Sister. Remember them in your prayers also for safe traveling there on Thursday and on the way home sunday. I will be away from the computer for a few days and just as soon as I am able, I will let everyone know how things went. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and may GOD Bless each and everyone of you.

An old idea renewed,maybe.
Air Force Planning Giant Spy Airship
WASHINGTON - The next Air Force spy craft is likely to be a giant, unmanned dirigible that can remain aloft at high altitudes, keeping an unblinking watch on vehicles, planes and even people.
The dirigible is the brainchild of the U.S. Air Force and the Pentagon's research arm, which together will spend $400 million to develop a prototype that could pave the way for a fleet of spy airships, military officials said Thursday.
The plans represent the final stage of work to develop a giant airborne radar system capable of providing ground operators with intricate detail over vast expanses, even if the dirigible is hundreds of miles from its target.
The project reflects a recent shift in Pentagon planning and spending priorities under Defense Secretary Robert
However, it marks the return to a form of flight that has stirred anxiety and doubt since the deadly 1937 disaster involving the Hindenburg. In Iraq, the military has used less-sophisticated tethered blimps called aerostats to conduct surveillance around military bases.
Unlike other surveillance platforms, the proposed airship will stay aloft for 10 years and provide a constant watch over an area, Air Force officials said.
"It is absolutely revolutionary," said Werner Dahm, chief scientist for the Air Force. "It is a cross between a satellite and a Global Hawk (spy plane)."
The airship will fly at 65,000 feet, or 12 miles, beyond the range of any handheld missile, and safe from most fighter planes.
At that height, it would be nearly impossible to see. But the dirigible could be vulnerable to some surface-to-air missiles, and would be unable to maneuver out of the way. Nonetheless, the airship's range will allow it to operate at distant edges of any military theater, likely out of the range of many missiles.
The airship would provide the military a much better understanding of an adversary's movements, habits and tactics, officials said. The ability to constantly monitor small movements in a wide area - like the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, for example - will dramatically improve military intelligence, officials said.
"It is constant surveillance, uninterrupted," Dahm said. "To be able to observe over a long period of time, you get a much better understanding of how an adversary operates. When you only have a short-time view - whether it is a few hours or a few days - that is not enough to put the picture together."
The dirigible will be filled with helium and powered by an innovative system that uses solar panels to recharge hydrogen fuel cells. Military officials said those underlying technologies, including a very light hull and low power transmitters, were critical to making the project work.
"The things we had to do here were not trivial, they were revolutionary," said Jan Walker, a spokeswoman for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
The final version of the airship will be about 450 feet long. However, the prototype will be only a third of that size. The craft is known to military planners as ISIS, or Integrated Sensor Is the Structure, referring to the radar system built into the structure of the craft.
The ISIS has a hull made of a lightweight, thick skin. Zeppelins - like the Hindenburg - have a rigid external structure. Blimps are not rigid, and are given their shape from the pressure of the helium gas. According to military, the ISIS is closer to a blimp than a zeppelin, but officials most frequently call it an airship. "Airship," like "dirigible," is a broader term.
The Air Force has signed an agreement to develop a demonstration dirigible along with the defense research agency. Due to be finished by 2014, the Air Force will begin to use the prototype after an initial three-month testing period. The military has not yet designated a contractor. The Air Force's intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance - or ISR - abilities have improved dramatically in the last five years with the expanded use of Predators and other drones. Although Air Force drones can linger over an area for a long time, they do not watch constantly.
The radar system is what gives the new airship its value to military planners.
"Being able to observe threats with a very large radar in the sky we have the ability to see things much better," Dahm said. "Being able to watch those things, understand what is happening, is really the game-changing piece here."

An up date from Silly Willy and Fluffy. (Prayers do work)
prayer group. Ginny continues to make progress in her rehabilitation but it will take a lot of
work on her part. She has worked harder than she ever has in her life. The Acute Rehab Team was amazed at her progress. The power of prayer and God's Grace has touched her and continues to bring her forward. She returned home to her family and is scheduled for Out Patient Rehabilitation. She will continue to need everyones prayers and strength to help
her progress.
With this being said,I hope that every one is keeping their daughter in their prayers

Just some babbling of my mind.(what I believe in)
I know that I do not talk a lot about my days as a drunk.those days were not pretty folks.and I do not care to do a drunkalog(those in A.A. know what I mean).I did that with my sponsor(s) a long time ago, actually as many times that I have been in and out of A.A.
I follow a group of bloggers.I do not discriminate on who I follow.I believe that we are ALL created by God. this being said he does not make mistakes. He has created us be be us.and He is the one to Judge us for the way we live.
I would like to think that everyone is accepting of each other.I believe that we should be.
This being said,I know that there is a great deal of prejudges in the world. The sad part is that it is not only based of skin color or religious preferences, but life style practices as well.
I believe that we do not have the right to say whom may live with whom, nor should we say who can marry and who cannot.
If you believe that we are all created by God and that he does not makes mistakes that everyone would be willing to accept each other as one.

Jumping onto my soapbox.
I was just reading some blogs that are condemning the increase funding for stem cell research.
the argument that that is killing just bugs the hell out of me. The research would use the embryo that are discarded.
Discarding embryos is a fancy way of saying that these embryos are going to be destroyed by throwing them out like yesterdays garbage!!!!
since some want to argue against using these for research is killing life, but disposing then unused is killing life also.
so why in the hell are these protesters not condemn the disposal of life as well.
give me a reason that one practice is OK and the other is not???? that sounds very hypocritical to me.
I WONDER HOW YOU WOULD FEEL IF YOU HAD A LIFE THREATENING MEDICAL CONDITION WOULD YOU STILL CONDEMN THE RESEARCH??
CASE IN POINT, A TYPE 1 DIABETIC(FORMERLY CALLED JUVENAL DIABETES.) I HAPPEN TO KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS HAD THIS DISEASE FOR 40 YEARS AND HAS A BUNCH OF LIFE RESTRICTING COMPLICATIONS THAT GO WITH THE DISEASE.
Now that I have said my piece I'm departing the soap box. who's next?? Comments are welcome, lets get a dialog going.
