MY HAMMERED DULCIMER

MY HAMMERED DULCIMER
There are various Hammered Dulcimer postings from YouTube of different tunes, and NO I AM NOT PLAYING ANY OF THESE TUNES.Maybe some day when I have the equipment to do so.I have included a link to my You Tube Channel.I invite you to go and watch any of my videos on the site also check out some of the different channels I subscribe to.

ABOUT THE HAMMERED DULCIMER

The hammered dulcimer is an ancient trapezoidal musical instrument played by striking the strings with wooden hammers.

Originating in the Middle East about 2000 years ago, English soldiers brought the instrument back to England after their failed attempt to conquer Persia during the Crusades about 1000 years ago. Dulcimers have many names in many lands: santur in the Middle East, yang q'in in China, hackbrett in Austria, zither in Germany, and cymbalom in Hungary. The name "dulcimer" is derived from Latin, meaning "sweet sound". Hammered dulcimers were popular in England during the reign of James I, when the Bible was translated into English as the King James Bible. The dulcimer was mentioned in the Book of Daniel 3:5 among other instruments "..the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of music..." The dulcimer was later mechanized to become what we now know as the harpsichord which later evolved in the piano.

THE SERENITY PRAYER

THE SERENITY PRAYER
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen. - Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)

The meaning of "TAPS"

If any of you have ever been to a military
funeral in which taps was played;
this brings out a new meaning of it.

Here is something Every American should know.
Until I read this, I didn't know, but I checked it out and it's true:

We in the  United States  have all heard the haunting song, 'Taps.'
It's the song that gives us the lump in our throats and usually tears in our eyes.

But, do you know the story behind the song?
If not, I think you will be interested to find out about its humble beginnings.

Reportedly, it all began in 1862 during the Civil War,
when Union Army Captain Robert Ellicombe was with his men near Harrison's Landing in  Virginia  .

The Confederate Army was on the other side of the narrow strip of land.

During the night, Captain Ellicombe heard the moans of a soldier who lay severely wounded on the field.
Not knowing if it was a  Union or Confederate soldier,

the Captain decided to risk his life and bring the stricken man back for medical attention.
Crawling on his stomach through the gunfire,
the Captain reached the stricken soldier and began pulling him toward his encampment.

When the Captain finally reached his own lines,
he discovered it was actually a Confederate soldier, but the soldier was dead.

The Captain lit a lantern and suddenly caught his breath and went numb with shock.
In the dim light, he saw the face of the soldier. It was his own son.
The boy had been studying music in the South when the war broke out.
Without telling his father, the boy enlisted in the Confederate Army.

The following morning, heartbroken, the father asked permission of his superiors
to give his son a full military burial, despite his enemy status.
His request was only partially granted.

The Captain had asked if he could have a group of Army band members
play a funeral dirge for his son at the funeral.
The request was turned down since the soldier was a Confederate.

But, out of respect for the father, they did say they could give him only one musician.

The Captain chose a bugler.
He asked the bugler to play a series of musical notes he had found on a piece of paper
in the pocket of the dead youth's uniform.

This wish was granted.
The haunting melody, we now know as 'Taps' used at military funerals was born.

The words are:

Day is done..
Gone the sun.
From the lakes
From the hills.
From the sky.
All is well.
Safely rest.
God is nigh.

Fading light.
Dims the sight.

And a star.
Gems the sky.
Gleaming bright.
From afar.
Drawing nigh.
Falls the night.

Thanks and praise.
For our days.
Neath the sun.

Neath the stars.
Neath the sky.
As we go.
This we know.
God is nigh.

I too have felt the chills while listening to 'Taps' but I have never seen all the words to the song until now.
I didn't even know there was more than one verse .
I also never knew the story behind the song and I didn't know if you had either so I thought I'd pass it along.

I now have an even deeper respect for the song than I did before.

These are amazing photos!
Photos taken on 7 December 1941, but not developed until 2009. The camera was the old Brownie camera like my Mother used over 70 years ago...
The photos are unbelievable...

Isn't is amazing how a film could last so long in a camera without disintegrating?

Fantastic photos taken 68 years ago. Some of you will have to go to a museum to see what a Brownie camera looked like?

Here is a simple picture of what we are talking about. . .

These photos are absolutely incredible...Read below the first picture and at the end...

An Award X2

Jackie, thank you. Sandee, thank you as well
this one is for every commentor this week.

A great prayer

A Stich in Thyme had this posted and I decided to post it as well.
Heavenly Father,
Humbly I ask for you to watch over the infirm, guide the confused and give peace to those in turmoil. I thank you Father for my sobriety for without you, it would not have been possible. I ask for your will to be the guiding beacon of all men. Please watch over the believers and non believers for we are at your mercy. I pray for the safe keeping of our creatures who come to mean so much to many of us. If my burdens will spare my children, friends, strangers or enemies, please use me as a vessel. I lay my confusion, my troubles & my fears at your feet. If I stumble Lord, please show me how to rise again for there are days when it seems impossible. If I fail, show me courage to try again. If I cry, remind me it too shall pass in it's due time with the gentle whispers of promise. And when I hurt Father, I will not ask why me but thank you for sparing those I love. If I anger Lord, temper me with your patience and quiet me so I may listen to the spirit. When I loose sight, remind me Lord ~I know the way back to you and though the road is hard and long, it's well mapped & brightly lit. I am troubled by so many who suffer with illness, both physical & mental. I ask a special prayer of comfort & peace for them. I ask for strength Lord so I may walk in light that you choose to shine on me. Let me bear up the weight of burdens that may fall upon me. Today is especially difficult for me Lord as I am struggling with so much pain & finding it hard to find my strength. I ask for your will to watch over & guide me through this difficult time.
In Jesus name,
Amen

WE NEED TO RETURN To THE USE OF TROLLEY BUSES.

There used to be trolley buses here in the Cleveland area, parts of the area went to this system after the trolley cars were discontinued.the buses looked like regular buses but were powered by electric motors and over head wires as seen in this picture. Maybe this system need to be brought back to the cities as part of the mass transit solutions.

A Rant against an Entre Card policy change.(Or make up your Minds)

Paid ads were an option for Entre Card members, you could decide not to have them,as a lot of us did.Now when the powers that be decided that paid ads were being cancelled. A lot of us were happy about that, some were not.

Goodbye, Paid Ads

Dear Entrecard Members,

My name is Cindy and I am the new Director of Business Development for Entrecard. I will be representing the Entrecard team in future posts and will be relaying information about new Entrecard changes and updates to users. I am excited to be working for Entrecard and look forward to reading your opinions and comments about Entrecard services.

We are making great progress with the transition and have come up with several ways to refine needed Entrecard services. I would like to inform you about two important changes.

Effective immediately, we will no longer accept applications for “paid ads” on your widget space. Based on user comments and blog posts, users have not been happy with the “paid ads” that was implemented a few months ago. Although a good portion of the revenue (75%) is given back to the users through the “credit cashout program,” we have found that most users would prefer not to have “paid ads” on their widgets at all. As a result, we have decided to eliminate “paid ads” on your widget. We are no longer accepting new “paid ads” and any ads currently in the system will continue to run until they are completed.

Second, we have received many user requests to redeem credits for cash through the “credit cashout program.” Some users have been paid while many users have not. Since we are ending the “paid ads” program, we are also eliminating the “credit cashout program.” As promised, we will continue to pay as many users as we can with the remaining funds from the “paid ads” system. Within the next 3 days, we will distribute the remaining funds from the “paid ads” to users on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once these funds run out, we will reissue credits back to those users who applied for the cashout program but did not receive money. An email notification will be sent out to our users.

We understand that eliminating the “credit cashout program” may upset some users. However, Entrecard is actively developing ways for Entrecard users to use, sell and trade their credits. This is on the top of our priority list.

Once again, we feel that ending the “paid ads” and “cashout” program will benefit Entrecard and its users in the long run. We understand what your concerns are and we intend to address them. Thank you for being a valued member. Stay tuned for updates.

Cindy Ung
Director of Business Development
Entrecard

This was a welcomed decision by a lot of the members Entre Card. Now that decision was reversed, there will be paid ads again, only this time Entre Card will be the only one recieving payments, not the bloggers that posted those ads.

Reserving 15% Network Inventory for

Sponsors

We are pleased that many members are taking advantage of Entrecard services and that Entrecard is able to help users increase traffic to their blog. However in order to continue providing this free service, we will be taking 15% of our entire ad network inventory for sponsors as of Sept. 28, 09. This is a standard business model used by free advertising networks. The revenues generated by our sponsors will help cover overhead expenses and keep our service free to all our members for years to come. To keep things simple and fair, all ads will be distributed evenly in our network. We are currently working on a feature that will allow users to disable sponsor ads that may conflict with their blog. This will be available in a few weeks.

Please be assured that we will screen all sponsor ads to ensure that they meet our guidelines. All sponsor ads WILL be family oriented, and will not promote nudity, violence or anything illegal.

We thank you for your support and understanding. We will continue to make improvements to our network. Our goal is to deliver more traffic to your blog, increase your readers and comments, and let you network with other bloggers. We will focus on fine tuning every aspect of our business to ensure that our users are happy in the years ahead.

Cindy U.
Entrecard.com

Now that part that may or may not happen.I may endup getting booted out of Entre Card for doing this posting,if so so be it.Others have been booted before by posting a disagreement on their blogs over Entre Card policy, but that again I have not called any one an asshat yet.

As soon as I'm done with this posting I will be stopping all ads for the time being, and if Entre Card forces paid ads on me than that's when the rants will become nasty.

PRAYERS FOR PEACE

September 19, 2009

Join with us, as we join The World Peace Prayer Society, to PRAY FOR PEACE on September 19, 2009.

WITH THANKS TO SYD FOR THIS POSTING.

I am an The Alcoholic,my Wife is not.this posting still applies to our relationship. With my Thanks to SYD, who is the spouse of an alcoholic from whom I got this posting:
I am the spouse of an alcoholic---one who cannot handle alcohol. From my point of view, this makes me what I would call a ordinary alcoholic because I can handle neither you or the alcohol. Both our lives became entangled in a brew of frustration, fears, and lost hope.

Now, in an effort to recover, I find that we are no different really, because it's not the presence of the alcohol but the lack of it that makes us what we are. It's the feelings that we have in common. You see--- sometimes I'm afraid of what tomorrow may bring. Or perhaps I am hurt by a situation or someone. Sometimes I have feelings I cannot find words to express. I have hopes and dreams for tomorrow as well as for today.

I have needs, also. I need to be loved and to be shown that I am loved. I need your approval many times--do you not need mine? When I hurt deep inside, I need you to try and understand. Don't be angry with me or impatient, because I have enough trouble handling the hurt without trying to handle your anger and impatience at the same time. Would you not want the same consideration from me when you are suffering from some hurt or frustration? I know you give your fellow alcoholics this consideration because I have watched you do so.

Then comes the state of sobriety. Is sobriety your own private gift? Sobriety is not the lack of drinking to me-- that's just " dry." Sobriety of good quality is more then that. It's being able to be happy amid problems. It's the absence of unnecessary fear and anxiety. It's the presence of love and concern for others as well as from others. Sobriety is a feeling of contentment and well being. Sobriety is recognizing the presence of God not only in ourselves and others but also in the world around us. Can you now see why I need sobriety, too?

You say your sobriety must be maintained " at all costs." You say just want understanding and support. Do you think that my sobriety is less important then yours? So, I stuck around during your drinking because I love you. What I wanted was to be loved, remembered and understood in return. As my love for you must be patient and understanding, do you think I need less from you? As your recovery needs my support--does not mine need yours? You're supposed to be my partner. A partnership is a relationship involving two people of equal importance, so don't shove me in the corner. I cannot survive there. As you recognize the pain and suffering to your fellow alcoholics, recognize mine and I will recognize yours, Don't you see that we are really alike? Don't you hurt, cry, laugh, smile, hope, feel angry, frustrations, disappointments, and worry? Don't you need to feel loved and remembered, supported, useful, and cared about by me as well as by others? So do I.

I have learned to accept all the feelings that you have, and that you tried to escape from them by using alcohol. Now that you have discovered these things in yourself---take one more step. Look again--are we any different? I ask you---who am I?

Once again Syd this is a great posting and I needed this message today and decided to share it as you did,I thank you for this great message.

Awards,and more awards.

The Friendship Blog Award above implies :
Green: to symbolize the new buddies
Yellow: to represent the guys who are always active
Blue: to symbolize with high performing PR Bloggers
Red: to symbolize that our blood is red and therefore we are all brothers.
Friendship through blogging is one of the very early sought after aims for most Bloggers. There are times when it is difficult to foster friendship through virtual reality. There are friends and there are friends. Even in life, we know that friendship is built on a lot of real life contact and considerations.
I’ve met Bloggers who are contentious, foul mouthed, hypocrites, back stabbers and they have a different agenda behind the curtain of their Blog. So, to receive a Friendship Blog Award is indeed precious and something to be cherished.
The Friendship Blog Award comes with a few DO’s and these are:
1. Create a post as above
2. Include a link Giver Award.
3. Copy-paste the image to be replicated at your Blog Post.

Those who receive this award are of the sweetest nature.
They are kind, friendly, funny, loving, eager to share their love for Jesus with others,
and brave in their efforts to reflect Him to this darkened world.
They are the kind of folks you're blessed to know,
even if it's only in the bloggy-sphere.

This award is for those who pray for the daily needs and last minute requests of other bloggers.

I have to thank 2 great bloggers for these awards: I recieved the Friendship award from Silly Willy and Fluffy.
I recieved the Prayer Warrior award and the True Heart award and the circle of friends award from Mari. My Heart Felt thanks to both of these great bloggers.
As every one knows I sometimes throw the rules right out the patio door.(that's where the computer is located.)
Now there are a lot of great bloggers out there that deserve these awards,Mari,Sandee,Silly Willy and Fluffy,74WixyGrad,and a host of others too numerous to mention, they are followers of me and those that I follow as well.these awards go to all of you!

Mary Travers (1936-2009) RIP

Mary Travers of the 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary died Wednesday after a long battle with leukemia. She was 72.

Bandmate Peter Yarrow said Travers handled her disease with "great dignity."

"It was, as Mary always was, honest and completely authentic," he said. "That's the way she sang, too, honestly and with complete authenticity," Yarrow told The Associated Press.

Travers underwent a successful bone marrow transplant to treat her leukemia and while she could perform after that, she told WTOP radio in Washington that her condition had worsened earlier this year.

Noel "Paul" Stookey praised Travers for her inspiring activism, "especially in her defense of the defenseless."

"I am deadened and heartsick beyond words to consider a life without Mary Travers," he told The Associated Press.

Mary Allin Travers was born Nov. 9, 1936, in Louisville, Ky., to two journalists who moved the family to New York's Greenwich Village. She attended school through the 11th grade before pursuing a singing career.
Pete Seeger, a founding member of the folk group the Weavers, lived in the same building as the Travers family and Travers performed with him.
Travers backed Seeger on one album and for two shows at Carnegie Hall, but it wasn't until she connected with Yarrow and Stookey that she found worldwide success. Yarrow was managed by Albert Grossman, who later worked with Bob Dylan.
The trio rehearsed in Travers' apartment for several months before its 1961 debut at the Bitter End in New York City.
The group won five Grammy Awards for its three-part harmony for "Leaving on a Jet Plane," "Puff the Magic Dragon" and Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind."
Travers is survived by her fourth husband, Ethan Robbins, and daughters Alicia and Erika.

the reduction of one of my medications...

A while back I posted that the PDoc wanted to reduce one of my medication in an effort to raise the threshold of my seizures. Well she told me if I found that my mood was declining that I should go back up to the dosage that I was at. Well today I did just that. My moods has been on a downhill slide to the point that I had to stop it or else. I told my wife of what was going on and she agreed that I needed to boost the medication back up.

Hopefully the medication will help soon. I'm at the stage that I just want to keep eating and that is not good nor is the other thing starting to run through my head. I mention that to my wife as well. She said that we can get through this, and that she would help.

One of the things that I don't like is the lack of desire to visit my blogging friends, and the wanting to sleep all day again. To quote a line from a Betty Davis movie: "Fasten your seat belts this is going to be a bumpy ride" (which movie I can not remember that the line came from) I ask that you keep me in your prayers as I try to ride this out.

R.I.P Patrick Swayze 1952-2009

Patrick Swayze was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer. Survival rates for this form of cancer are poor, and despite a valiant fight, Swayze lost his battle passing away yesterday at the age of 57.

Rest In Peace,my God give comfort to your survivors.

The sad part is that he was younger than this author by 7 months.

A fun email

I got this one from my PDOC::
THE TINY CABIN

A social worker from a big city in Massachusetts recently transferred to the mountains of North Carolina and Georgia and was on the first tour of her new territory when she came upon the tiniest cabin she had ever seen in her life. Intrigued, she went up and knocked on the door. 'Anybody home?' she asked.

'Yep,' came a kid's voice through the door.

'Is your father there?' asked the social worker.

'Pa? Nope, he left afore Ma came in,' said the kid.

'Well, is your mother there?' persisted the social worker.

'Ma? Nope, she left just afore I got here,' said the kid.

'But,' protested the social worker, 'are you never together as a family?'

'Sure, but not here,' said the kid through the door. 'This is the outhouse.'

Government workers are so very smart. Aren't you overjoyed that they'll soon be handling all our financial, educational and medical dilemmas?

In honor of my Neice.

I got word this week that my Neice Allesan, passed the bar exam in Okalahoma where she and her husband Tom live.

A great posting that I found.

Seattle Fire Department recognizes 9-11On Saturday, the Seattle Fire Department is holding a stair climb in one of our taller buildings to remember 9-11.

Firefighters from around the region will take part in Seattle’s First Annual 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb on Saturday, September 12 at Two Union Square in Downtown Seattle. As they climb, each firefighter will carry a photo of one of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty in the attack on the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001.

Beginning at 9:30 a.m. firefighters will climb to the 55th floor of the tower twice, representing the 110 stories of the Twin Towers. The 9-11 Stair Climb was organized by Seattle Firefighter Melissa Woolsey and is sponsored by Seattle’s Bravest Charity and the Seattle Fire Department. Prayer Request

I hope that you will all join me in this prayer; Lord, I am asking that you comfort my blogging friend Tink and her family as they deal with the loss of Leo, Amen. I also ask that you visit her and offer a word of comfort. Thank you one and all.

well Now isn't this special.

With all the turmoil in the market today and the collapse of Lehman Bros and the acquisition of Merrill Lynch by Bank of America, this might be some good advice. For all of you with any money left, be aware of the next expected mergers so that you can get in on the ground floor and make some BIG bucks. Watch for these consolidations later this year.

1. Hale Business Systems, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Fuller Brush, and W R Grace Co. will merge and become ~~ Hale, Mary, Fuller, Grace.

2. Polygram Records, Warner Bros, and Zesta Saltines join forces and become ~~ Poly, Warner Cracker.

3. 3M will merge with Goodyear and become ~~ MMM Good.

4. Zippo Manufacturing, Audi Motors, Defasco, and Dakota Mining will merge and become ~~ ZipAudiDoDa.

5. FedEx is expected to join its competitor, UPS and become ~ ~ FedUp.

6. Fairchild Electronics and Honeywell Computers will become~~Fairwell Honeychild.

7. Knotts Berry Farm and the National Organization of Women will become ~~ Knott NOW.

8. Victoria's Secret and Smith & Wesson will merge under the new name~~ TittytittyBangBang.

9. Simplicity Patterns and publishing giant Simon & Schuster will be known as~~Simple Simon

10. A merger of the Bush Bean Co. and Maria Callendar Foods will produce~~Same Shit Different Day

With a tip of the hat to Hale McKay for this one.

At least Cleveland is not first on this list. (this is a long one folks, sorry)

Sinking property values, high unemployment and prices, and poor environments add to the pressure felt by residents in these metros.

Few enjoy their commute. Just ask Stephen Dinwiddie, M.D., a psychiatrist at the University of Chicago.

"I think anybody who, like I do, commutes on the Kennedy on a daily basis knows exactly what stress is," he says, of his daily home-to-work commute on Chicago's expressway that extends from the Chicago Loop to O'Hare International Airport. "It takes anywhere from 30 minutes to several centuries--at least subjectively."

stressful-cities.jpg

But more pressing factors make Chicago for the second year in a row the country's most stressful city. Crowding, poor air quality, a high 11% unemployment rate and free-falling home values have created a cocktail of constant worry affecting many in the Windy City.

Los Angeles, Calif., ranks second, followed by New York, N.Y., Cleveland, Ohio, and Providence, R.I.

Behind the Numbers

To find the country's most stressful cities, we examined quality of life factors in the country's 40 largest metropolitan statistical areas, or metros--geographic entities defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget for use by federal agencies in collecting, tabulating and publishing federal statistics. We looked at June 2009 unemployment figures provided by the Bureau of Labor and Statistics and cost of living figures from the Council for Community and Economic Research. We examined median home-price drops from Q1 2008 to Q1 2009 that were provided by the National Association of Realtors. Population density based on 2008 data from the U.S. Census Bureau and ESRI also factored. Last, we examined the number of sunny and partly sunny days per year, based on 2007 data from the National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service, as well as air-quality figures, based on 2007 data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The economic climate is clearly kicking up stress levels. In March, the National Sleep Foundation reported that more than a quarter of 1,000 survey participants were sleeping less because of the economy.

The recession has also forced Americans to skimp on health care. In a February telephone poll of 1,200 adults conducted by the nonprofit Kaiser Family Foundation, 53% of respondents said they cut back on health care costs by avoiding doctor's visits, skipping dental checkups and not filling prescriptions, among other strategies.

Year-over-year housing-price drops may also be behind Americans' anxiety.

"A forty-three percent drop is something that could easily be classified as a housing-market cataclysm," says Andres Carbacho-Burgos, economist at Moody's Economy.com, of the Q1 2008 to Q1 2009 median home-price plunge in San Francisco. That's compared with the national median home-price dip of 14.7% during that same time. "Over that long a period of time a drop that significant for San Francisco, or for the Bay Area as a whole, indicates just that the economy has turned sour and that credit is very, very tight and has been over the past year."

What's more, the drastic decline is not representative of the housing market as a whole--rather of the composition of homes being sold, says Walter Molony, spokesman for the National Association of Realtors. Almost 50% of homes sold nationwide in the first quarter of 2009 were distressed homes. One-third of those were short sales, and two-thirds were foreclosures, Molony says.

Though there are signs of a bottoming in some markets, falling home prices can immediately impact residents in two ways: first by affecting employment in the housing-related or real estate fields, and second by reducing consumer spending in metro areas with relatively large home-equity declines. Consumer spending in July was flat, erasing hopes of a kick-started economy.

And few are going to start spending when jobs are scarce. Perhaps no one knows that better than residents of Detroit. There, unemployment is 17.1%, thanks to the collapse in the auto industry. Employee cutbacks in General Motors plants and other makers of car parts led to the drastic 14.8% unemployment rate increase from May to June 2009, says Steve Cochrane of Moody's Economy.com.

Other cities have different reasons for stress: Pittsburgh comes in second for the least amount of sunny days, and ninth for low air quality. While for years we’ve been told to avoid certain skin cancers by staying out of the sun, new research showed a link between low vitamin D levels and increased propensity to the common cold. It’s also believed that vitamin D receptors in cells and tissue may help regulate the immune system. Irritants in the atmosphere can cause increased incidences of asthma, chest tightness or cough.

But there are ways to stay sane in cities while the state of the economy stays stressful. Dinwiddie says it's important to identify what's causing stress to be able to tackle it, and to find a good balance between work and home. He also points out that one of the good things about big cities is that they offer a variety of things that can rapidly change an individual's environment. "It's easy, for example, to go to the beach or catch a Cubs game," he says. "Although I suppose some people wouldn't consider that to relieve stress."

Awww Monday

I'm not going to quite blogging.

I will still continue to blog. It may take me a few days to get back into the swing of things.

Here is one reason, my bi-polar meds are being adjusted. The medication that I am on can lower the SEIZURE THRESHOLD. We are reducing the amount that I take. I am seeing one change that is not for the good. I am not the happy go lucky self that I was several days ago. I am trying to ride out this and it is maybe why I overreacted and posted the post about quitting.

I am hoping that when I get to the dosage that my doctor wants me to be at that I stabilize again. If not the medication will be going back up to where it was. Meanwhile, enjoy the post that Sandee just posted about the Alligators.

Please keep me in your prayers, while I try to ride out the changes. If things do not improve next week I will be boosting the meds back up. I may still throw a video in for Friday.
One more thing, I am glad to have my blogging friends that I have and will be visiting you as I can.

Lawyers and Alligators

Two alligators are sitting on the edge of a swamp. The small one turns to the big one and says, "I don't understand how you can be so much bigger than I am. We're the same age, we were the same size as kids... I just don't get it."

"Well," says the big alligator, "what have you been eating?"

"Lawyers, same as you," replies the small alligator.

"Hmm. Well, where do you catch 'em?"

"Down at that law firm on the edge of the swamp."

"Same here. Hmm. How do you catch 'em?"

"Well, I crawl under a BMW and wait for someone to unlock the door. Then I jump out, bite 'em, shake the crud out of 'em, and eat 'em!"

"Ah!" says the big alligator, "I think I see your problem. See, by the time you get done shakin' the crud out of a lawyer, there's nothing left but lips and a briefcase..."

I'M TAKING A BREAK.

I AM TAKING THE WEEK OFF FROM BLOGGING AND DO SOME SOUL SEARCHING. I HAVE TO REMIND MYSELF WHAT THIS BLOG IS REALLY ABOUT. I AM NOT GOING TO OPEN MYSELF UP THE THE SILLINESS OF OUR POLITICAL SYSTEM ANY MORE, NOR WILL I COMMENT ON BLOGS THAT ARGUE THE RADICAL RIGHT OR THE FAR LOONY LEFT ANY MORE.
IF I DECIDE TO CONTINUE BLOGGING I WILL BE BACK.

RE THINKING OPENING CANS OF WORMS.

I think that I will get off my soap box about political stuff.I will not debate about the stupidity of some of the actions taken by people any more.case in point was a rebuttal the one presidency is being blamed for actions taken by a different administration.
now if you really do not like to read what I wrote you are cordiality invited not to come back.

I guess it is time to go back to the kinder gentler blog that this has been.

A Rant. (post #1134)

well folks here comes a rant about highly intelligent idiots! The President wants to talk to children during school time to say the importance of getting a good education.I think that is a great idea! this being said there are those dumb asses out there that say they will not allow their student to watch this address because" it pushes his agendas"If his agenda is to get kids to stay in school and strive to be better educated is a bad thing than the next generation is destined to be a lower achieving school system the systems in other countries that want the children to excel in their studies.wake up people we are being passed by because of our lack of pushing our kids to do better in school that we did. What the hell is wrong with that??????????

Why in the hell does the current administration have to be blamed for the chain of events that was started several years ago by a different administration????WTF?????

there are times that stupidity just pisses me off.

Hi Folks,I have a new Prayer request,It is for a blogging friend called Jungle Tart. She is going through a rough patch and needs our prayers.

Friday Flashback.

Prayer request.

I have been sleeping for the past couple of hours.I just got up and I found this request from Jackie:Mike,
I don;t have your email. So I couldn't contact you!!

Please I am asking for sister in law Juanita and our family for prayers.

She has been battling cancer for almost 3 years now. She was just rushed to the hospital and is not expected to live through the surgery.

The DR.'S told us all to get prepared. Walter is on the road in New York trying to drive and deal with this...I am very concerned about him too.

He just lost a sister not too long ago to cancer.

Please send this to the prayer hub. Pray that Juanita lives and if it's not God's will for her to stay here with us...then please pray for all of our family as we love her very much!!

Jackie
Let's keep Juanita and her family in out prayers and go offer support to Jackie via the link.

A follow up on a couple of postings

First of all I got this email from Karen Zemek: Thanks for all your prayers. I am praising the Lord this morning that the cancer did not spread to the lymph nodes so I don't need chemo (just the radiation treatments) and they were able to get it all out. It took 2 1/2 hours and I woke in about 45 minutes later.

It was scheduled for 1:30 but then it got pushed back to almost 4:00. Got to watch some of the tennis open at least while I waited and had a nice visit with Pastor Zerby from our church. Gerard left to walk Abby shortly after I went in so she got her walk at her normal time. Then he came back. I got home around 7 and went to bed. Very tired for some reason.

The second follow up is that over night and today the toilets were not leaking, so we canceled the plumber coming out.

Tuesday, September 01, 2009

Oh hell not again.

In December I wrote about toilet problems that we were having and how both toilets had to be replaced. Well folks we here at Golch Central are having problems again. The powder room toilet is leaking like a sieve and occasionally the upstairs toilet is leaking as well. To top it off the plumber that did the work seems to be dragging his feet saying it is not the toilets. He is coming out tomorrow at take a look at the problem. I hope that we do not have to do something as drastic has having both floors ripped out and redone, but if that what it takes so be it. I can see the money sprouting wings and flying away. Just what we do not need on top of buying our new car and having the windows and back sliding door replaced. I'm getting sick and tired of it always raining on our parade. Right now all I feel like is just playing my games and not visiting any one's blogs. Maybe tomorrow.

The Blogger's Prayer

Lord help me to learn to spell without spellcheck, manage to visit all that visit me, and post regularly - all in 5 minutes a day, so that I can clean house and take care of my family. Help me to not look at every occurrence in my life as a blog post, and to quit taking pictures of weird things to share as well. Please Lord, help me to stop talking about my blog friends as though they are next door neighbors or someone I have known all of my life. And help me dear Lord, to think of something witty and wise to post tomorrow.
